REDICT / LEGAL

Terms of Use

The rules for using Redict, including App Store purchases, subscriptions, your materials and support.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern the Redict apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, redict.app, and related services provided by Dmitry Schavlik (“we”, “us”). Contact us at redict.app@gmail.com.

By using Redict, you agree to these terms to the extent a binding agreement can be formed under applicable law. If you cannot legally enter into the agreement yourself, a parent or guardian must authorize your use where required. If you do not agree, stop using the service. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights.

The Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing. Accepting these terms is not a substitute for any separate consent required for optional tracking or advertising.

2. What Redict provides

Redict offers a dictionary, translation tools, vocabulary cards and collections, learning exercises, reading and import tools, speech features and reminders. Some functions work offline; others require an internet connection, an Apple service, permission or a paid entitlement. Features and content can vary by device, app version, operating system, language and region.

Definitions, machine translations, recognized speech or images, and learning recommendations may be inaccurate or incomplete. Redict is a learning tool and does not guarantee a particular learning outcome. Check any translation on which an important decision depends.

3. App license and Apple services

You may use Redict for its intended purposes on compatible devices in accordance with these terms and the applicable App Store usage rules. The license to an App Store download is governed by the license agreement supplied with that download, including Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement where no separate custom license is provided. These terms supplement the service relationship; they do not override mandatory store rules or rights granted by applicable law.

The current app does not require a separate Redict email-and-password account. Purchases and supported iCloud features rely on your Apple Account. Keep your device and Apple Account secure. We do not ask you to give us your Apple password.

4. Paid features and one-time purchases

Some features require a paid purchase. The App Store purchase sheet and the offer shown before purchase specify the product, price, currency, billing period and any trial or introductory conditions. Available products may include recurring subscriptions and one-time, non-consumable purchases. Not every product or offer is available in every region or app version.

Apple handles App Store billing. Redict does not operate a separate website checkout or charge your payment card directly. A one-time purchase does not automatically renew; its included features are those described in the purchased offer. Do not assume it includes a different product or separately priced service unless the offer says so.

Where supported, use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used to buy the product. Access depends on a valid transaction and the product’s entitlement. Contact us if a valid purchase is not recognized; do not send your payment-card number or Apple password.

5. Subscriptions, trials and cancellation

Recurring subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple before renewal. The period, renewal price and any offer conversion are shown during purchase and in your Apple subscription settings. A trial or introductory offer normally converts to the displayed paid subscription unless cancelled in time. For a free or discounted trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want renewal.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account’s subscription settings. See Apple’s cancellation instructions. Uninstalling Redict, deleting learning data or emailing support does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. We cannot cancel it on your behalf through your Apple Account.

Cancellation stops future renewals. Paid access generally continues until the end of the period already paid for, subject to Apple’s rules; trial access may end earlier after cancellation. Renewal and price-change notices, consent requirements and payment handling follow Apple’s policies and applicable law. A price change does not authorize us to bypass those protections.

6. Refunds and purchase problems

For an App Store refund, use Apple’s refund request process. Eligibility depends on the transaction, Apple’s policies and applicable consumer law. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically refund an earlier charge, but these terms do not remove any statutory right to a refund or another remedy.

We can help investigate missing access, restoration problems and app defects at redict.app@gmail.com. Apple handles billing and refund decisions for purchases it processes. Product support and a request for a billing refund are separate processes.

7. Your materials and sharing

You retain your rights in books, texts, cards, notes, images and other materials you import or create. You must have the rights or permission needed to use and share them. Access to a web page or possession of a file does not necessarily give you permission to redistribute its contents.

You authorize the processing, storage, copying and transmission of your materials only as needed to provide the functions you use, such as import, display, translation, synchronization, backup, export and sharing, and to support and secure those functions. This does not transfer ownership of your materials to us or grant a general right to publish your private library.

When you export or share something, check the selected content and recipients. Recipient services have their own terms. If you report a copyright issue, identify the material, explain your rights and provide enough information for us to locate and review it.

8. Acceptable use and intellectual property

Do not use Redict to violate law or another person’s rights; distribute malware; access systems or data without authorization; disrupt the service; evade valid purchase restrictions; or send abusive automated traffic to online services. Restrictions on reverse engineering or interoperability apply only to the extent permitted by law and the relevant software license.

Redict’s app code, branding, design and supplied content belong to their respective rights holders. Third-party books, dictionary materials, images and open-source components remain subject to their own rights and licenses. The ability to view or download content does not grant an unrestricted right to republish it.

9. Third-party features and advertisements

Redict relies on services including Apple, Google Firebase, online translation providers and image providers. It may open external dictionaries and websites. Their availability, permissions and separate terms can affect the features that use them. The free app may display third-party advertisements; an advertisement is not our endorsement of the advertiser or a guarantee about its offer.

We remain responsible for our own obligations under these terms and applicable law. A reference to a third-party service does not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Availability, updates and ending use

We may maintain, update or change Redict, and online functions may sometimes be unavailable. Compatibility can change as operating systems and third-party services evolve. We do not promise uninterrupted access or indefinite support for every device. Changes to paid features remain subject to the purchased offer and any notice, remedy or other protection required by law.

We may restrict an online function where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, serious misuse, a security risk or a legal obligation. Where practicable and appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow the issue to be addressed. Such action does not remove rights to remedies that apply to paid services.

You can stop using Redict at any time. Export irreplaceable materials before removing the app or its data. Local deletion, cloud deletion and subscription cancellation are different actions; check each one separately. Reasonable backup precautions do not reduce our legal responsibility for a loss for which we are liable.

11. Responsibility and consumer rights

To the extent allowed by law, Redict is provided without a promise that it will meet every individual need or that every item of information is error-free. We are not responsible for loss caused solely by your misuse or by circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, or any liability that cannot legally be limited. Statutory rights concerning digital content and services, conformity, withdrawal, repair, price reduction and refunds remain available wherever applicable.

12. Governing law, revisions and contact

Polish law governs our service relationship, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of habitual residence. Jurisdiction is determined by applicable law; these terms do not force consumers to waive a court or complaint route available to them by law. Separate Apple agreements govern your relationship with Apple.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. We may update these terms to reflect service changes or legal requirements. The revision date appears above. Where advance notice or consent is required, the relevant change will apply only after those requirements are met. We will not retroactively remove rights attached to an already completed purchase.

For questions, complaints or help with Redict, email redict.app@gmail.com. Please describe the issue and include only the device, app version and purchase information needed to investigate it.
